Avian enthusiasts will enjoy many native species of birds in Livingston Parish. Ranging from beautiful cardinals, bluebirds, finch, egrets, herons, owls, and hawks as well as many seasonal migratory birds, the variety of sitings is endless.

Snowy Egrets and Great Blue Herons can be seen gathering crawfish and other food amid a mix of palmetto, wax myrtle and native azalea about the Tickfaw State Park. Recently the Park has been added to the Gulf Coast Birding Trail which offers 115 designated sites connecting the best birding spots on the coast from Texas to Mississippi.
