Although many may believe there are only two seasons in Livingston Parish -- crawfish and not crawfish -- there are actually more.

Not far from I-12, just south of Springfield, is an abundance of strawberry fields. When winter is fading, the berries are bursting on the vines. Usually by Easter, there are several roadside stands offering the ripe, luscious fruit.

To pick your own or for more information, visit one of the following: Blahut Strawberry Farm located in Springfield or Landry-Poche Strawberry Farm located in Holden (email: strawberrylady@charter.net)
